The Mayoral Prayer Breakfast is an event held each year in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer (1st Thursday in May). The Mayoral Prayer Breakfast Committee, a group of Christian ministers, businessmen, and military personnel, meet regularly throughout the year to plan this event and pray for our leaders. They also work together with numerous local sponsors to host the event during which prayers are offered for our communities\’ leader and those in authority as well as for our state, our nation, and the world.
This annual event includes breakfast, a time of prayer for our community leaders, and a keynote speaker who shares how they have overcome hardship and how prayer is important to their life.
The Mayoral Prayer Breakfast is funded solely by donations and no taxpayer dollars are utilized to support this event.

The 2019 Mayoral Prayer Breakfast Guest Speaker is Al Linder
Al is a two-time Bassmaster tournament winner and has seats in five different fishing halls of fame. He has been listed as one of the 35 most influential bass fishing pioneers and visionaries by Bassmaster magazine.
As co-host of Lindner’s Angling Edge and Fishing Edge television series, Al remains immensely popular as one of the best-recognized angling authorities in North America. Al, however, has always worn many hats, and even his most avid fans may not realize the extent of his past and present involvement with all aspects of the fishing business.
Al is one of the forces at Lindner Media Productions, which specializes in producing educational fishing programs. He was a co-founder of the In-Fisherman magazine and In-Fisherman Communication Network which was honored by the Minnesota Magazines and Publications Association and received the Hedley Donovan Award for it’s contributions to the Minnesota magazine industry.
Al and his brother invented the Lindy Rig, the No-Snagg sinker, as well as a number of other well-known tackle products, the Lindners sold their stakes in Lindy Tackle in 1973 and sold the In-Fisherman Magazine and Communication Network in 1998.
Today, Al and the Lindner family focus their efforts on Lindner Media Productions, whose client list includes some of the most respected names in the outdoor industry. He continues to fish avidly for all freshwater fish, averaging about 180 days a year on the water, and is recognized and hailed as one of the world’s best all-around anglers.
