DESCRIPTION:The Mayoral Prayer Breakfast is an event held each year in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer (1st Thursday in May). The Mayoral Prayer Breakfast Committee\, a group of Christian ministers\, businessmen\, and military person\, meet regularly throughout the year to plan this event and pray for our leaders. They also work together with numerous local sponsors to host the event during which prayers are offered for our communities’ leader and those in authority as well as for our state\, our nation\, and the world. \nThis annual event includes breakfast\, a time of prayer for our community leaders\, and a keynote speaker who shares how they have overcome hardship and how prayer is important to their life. \nThe Mayoral Prayer Breakfast is funded solely by donations and no taxpayer dollars are utilized to support this event. \nWe’d like to give a special thank you to all our sponsors for this event including: Diocese of La Crosse\, SSE Music\, Inc.\, Living Word Christian Church\, The BLU Group\, Relevant Radio\, Brenengen Chevrolet\, Inc.\, Leading with Power\, Festival Foods\, Magnum Radio\, Inc.\, Gundersen Health System\, Mayo Clinic Health System\, La Crosse Sign Co.\, Inc.\, On Point Speech & Language Services\, Barge Chiropractic Clinic\, S.C.\, La Crosse Loggers Foundation\, LLC\, Kent Gabrielsen Realtor\, Kwik Trip\, Inc.\, La Crosse Area Law Enforcement\, Chaplaincy\, Inc.\, Viterbo University\, and Wiebke Fur Company. \nSpecial Guest Speaker: Mr. Al Lindner\nThe 2019 Mayoral Prayer Breakfast Guest Speaker is Mr. Al Lindner. \nDuring a long career spanning the most revolutionary years in sportfishing history\, Al Lindner ranks among the most renowned leaders in the fishing industry. He continues to fish avidly for all freshwater fish\, averaging about 180 days a year on the water\, and is hailed as one of the world’s best all-around anglers. \nAs the host of Lindner’s Angling Edge and Fishing Edge television series\, Al remains immensely popular as one of the best-recognized angling authorities in North America. Al\, however\, has always worn many hats\, and even his most avid fans may not realize the extent of his past and present involvement with all aspects of the fishing business. Other than finding new and better ways to catch fish\, that is. \nForemost among his current efforts\, Al is a driving force at Lindner Media Productions\, which specializes in producing educational fishing programs and DVDs\, national TV commercials\, product sales presentations\, point-of-purchase product DVDs shown internationally in sporting goods stores and provide their trademark underwater photography to the sport fishing industry. \nAl currently resides in five different Fishing Halls of Fame including the prestigious International Game Fish Association (IGFA) and is enshrined in the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as an educator and a legendary angler. He’s a member of the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame\, as well as the Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame and the Normark Fishing Hall of Fame. \nHe won two BassMaster events and qualified for three Classics in the three short years he fished the circuit fulltime. He also won countless walleye and bass tournaments over the years. \nAl was awarded the Samuel C. Johnson Fishing Journalist of the Year honor and was named among the 35 most influential people in bass fishing by BassMaster Magazine and is considered one of the best all-around multi-species anglers in North America. \nHe was co-founder of the In-Fisherman Communications Network\, Lindner Media Productions and the Lindy Tackle Company.  He is currently the host of Lindner’s  Angling/Fishing Edge\, and into his 4th consecutive decade on television. \nHis continuing dedication to teaching youth to fish reached a high point when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service used his In-FisherKIDS Camp Fish formula as a nationwide teaching tool. Of all his titles\, however\, Al prefers that of “Angling Educator\,” a lifelong obsession he tirelessly pursues. \nTickets\nTickets are no longer available for the 2019 Mayoral Prayer Breakfast.
